I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice since becoming licensed in 2003.

I have retired from my private psychotherapy practice and am now doing consultation work with individuals and groups.

I graduated from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2000 with a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Depth Psychology.

From 2000-2017 I had the honor of serving as a  faculty member at Pacifica Graduate Institute which included being the director of Pacifica's Ph.D. Clinical Training program for several years.

I developed and taught many courses in Dissertation Development and Research  and had the privilege of creating courses in Jungian Psychotherapy, Archetypal Psychotherapy and Imaginal Ways of Knowing in both Psychotherapy and Research.

My courses spanned many of the programs at Pacifica including the Clinical, Depth, Somatic, Community liberation and Ecopsychology programs.

I have had the pleasure of assisting many students at Pacifica complete their concept papers for research and have served on many doctoral dissertation committees.

I completed an internship and my post-doctoral training at the C.G. Jung Institute in Los Angeles, Ca.

I am blessed to have had many Senior Jungian Analysts as mentors and supervisors to guide my training and support my work: Marvin Spiegelman, Steven Frank, Rose Emily Rothenberg, Dianne Cordic, and Connie Crosby among them.

While at Pacifica I completed Two other internships with children and adolescents: I worked in a private psychotherapy practice in Los Angeles devoted to helping children and adolescents though guided imagery practices.  I also created a research study with City Hearts, a non-profit organization that helps Youth at Risk by offering acting classes as a way to heal, process, and transform traumas these youth have experienced.

My training includes certification with The Academy for Guided Imagery to use Interactive Guided Imagery Techniques which I incorporate into my practice.

In addition, I utilize a somatic approach in my work.  I trained and became a licensed massage therapist in the 1980's and spent many years studying various bodywork techniques eventually developing my own somatic sensitivity and ability to listen to the body of a client. Paying attention to the somatic transference in Psychotherapy can be a central force for healing and  transformation in the Care of the Soul.

I have over 40 years of experience in Meditation studying and practicing with spiritual masters in various traditions. I am a long time student of the Tibetan Bon Tradition, my primary teacher being Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. I also studied and practiced the Chinese Taoist Tradition of Qi Gong for 30 years with Dr. Baolin Wu as my teacher. I studied and practiced Indian Naada Yoga and Chakra psychology with Shyamji Bhatnagar beginning in 1979. In 1974 I was initiated into TM (Transcendental Meditation). And I studied Hatha Yoga with Sri Swami Satchidananda in New York City for many years in the 1980's.

I have advanced training with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies in Soul Retrieval, Death and Dying, and Shamanic Counseling. During my training I experienced the greatest teaching of my life: a profound and life altering Shamanic Initiation which became the focus of my Dissertation: Shamanic Initiation: Map of the Soul  Please see my dissertation abstract

and here is the entire published work: Shamanic Initiation: Map of the Soul  The Actor-Healer Archetype Revealed

In 1976 I received an M.F.A. in Theater and Performing Arts from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. I was a professional actress for many years performing leading roles on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional Theater, Television and Film. IMBD Lisa Sloan

All of these areas of expertise, training, and life experiences have influenced my approach to the Tending of the Soul.

The integration of the Actor, the Healer, and the Depth Psychologist culminated in my founding The Center for Oracular Studies and becoming Artistic Director of Oracular Theater which hosts the performance Piece: Journey to the Oracle: Awakening Mary.

This piece, under special contract agreement with Actors Equity Association, has been performed in Los Angeles and has, as a larger vision, individual and world peace, traveling to sacred sites around the world to teach about the relevance of the Oracle in these modern times and to Awaken Mary's Presence, Love and Healing to the World through the ancient sacred ritual of visiting the Oracle.  In 1987 I received a vision from Mary, asking me to share her evolving purpose. Over many years, I developed a fluency as her Oracle, communicating via an Oracular consciousness in order to share her messages as they came to and through me.

Here are some examples. Each publication includes the history of the work with Mary in it's introduction:

Awakening to Who You Are

Transforming Suffering

Heal the World Heal Ourselves

And finally, a nice acknowledgement and memory:
I was nominated to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, in 1974, having graduated with a B.A. from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia that same year.  I was listed in Outstanding Young Women of America in 1982.

I am grateful for my full and prosperous and what I consider a rather daring life which has touched the boundaries of existence and its mysteries. I am honored to have supported and been a companion to so many others on their healing journey.

Ultimately my life has been in service to the Soul.
